It's been a while....
I have been away for a while...touring the nation by plane for the holidays. Had a great time in both Washington DC and Colorado...both cold, but fun. I got to see Maria perform as Elphaba in Wicked at the Kennedy Center as well! That was a very lucky circumstance that fell in my favor....
Oh, and you can now find a plethora of new a fun goodies at the Scheid Store...like a Scheid Journal, or T-Shirts and even a thong....don't ask.... ;-)
In Sad news...Brett, the post production supervisor at the NYFA, where I work, had his last day today. Going to miss him, even though most of the time he was either insulting me or Kristina...I guess you get used to it.
Time for bed though...we moved Post Production across the street and we have been setting it up for the past several days....short deadlines and too much to do! :-(

Faces of Scheid Mug
I made a new large mug yesterday. This one featuring the many faces of Scheid. Finally something to do with all of those headshot pictures that didn't make the cut as a printed headshot. I get to use the new Wacom tablet that my girlfriend gave me for my birthday....an early gift...not that early though (19th).
I almost completed my Christmas shopping this weekend....just having trouble coming up with something for my dad, and although it feels really early to be 'almost done', we are having an early Christmas this year in Colorado, so I am actually only about a week away from our 'Christmas Night'.
I had a voice lesson today that went really well...interestingly enough Gary had me sing like I was drunk...it worked really well....it relaxed me and freed me up to hit higher notes more comfortably. I think I could release an album of 'the classics' sung by a drunk guy....might be successful. So for the next couple of weeks my homework is going to be to practice singing drunk....no more singing while I drive then I guess.

New Scheid Products
I added some new Scheid Products to the Scheid Store today...Scheid Mugs and a Scheid Stein. Yep...a Scheid Stein. 3 mugs have already been purchased. Next up a 2006 Calender! :-) Anyway...almost time to go home....
By the way...it looks like we are in trouble for the championship game (if we make it that far)...we only have 8 players for that night, 4 guys and 4 girls....every one else is on vacation...not to mention Kristina has Brad in a cast. This is gonna suck.

The Scheid Store
So, now you can send letters using stamps with my picture on it. Yep...I opened a store today, online...I only have one thing in the store right now...but I think I will eventually add other things for purchase...so, if you go to The Scheid Store (www.cafepress.com/scheid) you can get some Scheid Stamps....until tech support on the site gets back to me there is only one model available..."Intense Scheid".

Supplies are limited.

2 new things

First and foremost...for those of you who are hanging on the edge of their seats waiting to hear how Kristina and her new friend Brad are doing...You will be happy to know that she took Brad to the hospital, where a doctor told her that Brad was broken. He set it, and put her hand in a cast...no cutting necessary. Our best wishes go out to you and to Brad.

In other news...I received word as to our next game time and opponent. Drum roll please.....
Monday night at 7:30 we will be playing The Chang Gang! Our odds have improved with this news...but, we are talking about the playoffs here...anything can happen....dramatic music can continue throughout that last bit.
Capote
So, I watched Capote last night....if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend watching it. I had recognized the name (Truman Capote) but couldn't place where I knew it from. Well, Truman Capote was an author...among other things he wrote Breakfast at Tiffanies as well as In Cold Blood (the book that this movie revolves around). Magnolia actor Phillip Seymore Hoffman played Capote. Not actually knowing Mr. Capote personally I can't tell you if Hoffman's portrayal was accurate, yet I can tell you that the character that Hoffman created and maintained throughout the movie was incredible. His performance is certainly going to generate an Oscar nomination. Go see this film...it isn't an action film, or even a thriller; it is a drama that will suck you in.

Walk the Line
Another good film...one that I wished lasted longer (a good sign). The movie ends 30-something years before his death, but accomplishes it's goal of telling the story of how Joan and Johnny met. Joaquin Pheonix does a phenomenal job...at times I thought they were using stock footage of Mr Cash...and did an amazing job sounding like him both while speaking and singing. The beautiful Reese Witherspoon did a great job as well portraying June Carter. I see Qscar nods for both of them. I have a lot more to see before the Oscar announce date, but I think the ones I am predicting will hold....we shall see.

NYFA Softball Report
I know you are all waiting to hear how the game went last night...well, perhaps not, seeing as the only people who read this are either on the team, or know people on the team who have probably already told them how it went. Well...I'm going to tell you anyway! So there! The game was set to be a tough one...the last time we played this team, the UMS Noods, the game was called before half due to the rain....and we are all glad that happened...we were getting smoked! Talk about a game full of excitement! Questionable calls, Players getting Ejected, Chad getting hit in the head with a bat! In the end, we held on for a win.
The season is over, we now stand in first place with a record of 8-2 (a significant improvement from last years dismal 0-10 record). Now we head into the playoffs. The first game is next week...we would love to know who were are play against, but after us in the standings sits a 3 way tie between the Noods, DC Top Guns, and the Chang Gang. 1st plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd...so I have no clue how they are going to figure this one out. Wither way, if we make it to the championship game (December 19...my Birthday) we are going to be missing a ton of our guys! So that game would be a challenge. Anyway...we won...I am happy. And Chad did in fact get hit in the head with a bat...it was more of a glancing blow...and now Chad is walking around claiming to be made out of Alumantium or something...that the bat had a significant bend in it after it hit his head. And Kristina hurt her finger, but because she wants to make sure that she gets as injured as possible, she is going to hide it in her pocket until it turns black...then, and only then, will she go to a hospital to have it looked at. I can imagine this is how the conversation would go:

Doctor: Ok..let me see your finger.....GOOD GOD! What in the name of Lord Baby Jesus is on your hand!
Kristina: Oh, that's my finger. Say 'Hello' finger!
Doctor: Holy Crap! Why didn't you come in to see someone sooner!?
Kristina: Well, this happens all the time. Once...I slid into a base...and then I licked the scrape wound...and then I got an infection....but I waited until I sar it get all red and it hurt to walk on it. It's more fun that way. My boo-boos are like new friends....I don't want them to ever go away. Look at my scar on my leg... Say 'Hello' scar!
Doctor: Wait...you sar it get all red?
Kristina: Yep...sar it get all red. So I put some goo on it that I keep in my draw. It reminds me of when I lived in West Virginyer. I used to play with my Hooler-Hoop a lot. I was the Hooler-Hoop champion of the south. Yep, I beat out kids from Georger, Florider, Alabamer, and even this foreign exchange kid I sar from Alasker.
Doctor: Wait...Alask-a is part of the US.
Kristina: Yeah...but they all look like Mexicans.
Doctor: Does everyone experience this dizziness when they talk to you?
Kristina: My mom says that's what makes me special.
Doctor: Well, special or not, we are going to have to remove your finger.
Kristina: Oh.....do I get to keep it?
Doctor: Excuse me?
Kristina: Do I get to keep it? I have an iPod shuffle case that I can put it in and wear it around my neck. Then I can feed it soup. And I will call him...Brad. Yes, Brad.
Doctor: Listen...this is a very serious case here. I am going to have to cut off your finger or you will die.
Kristina: Brad.
Doctor: I'm sorry?
Kristina: Brad. His name is Brad.
Doctor: Jesus...ok...we are going to have to cut off Brad in order for you to live.
Kristina: Good. Because I don't think I could fit all of my other finger friends into the iPod shuffle case anyway. This way Brad will be more comfy. Say 'Hello' Brad.

That was a mere dramatization...I don't know if that is exactly how it would go....I think I have gone on for far too long. Point is...she should go see a friggin doctor before it's too late. Anyway...that's enough for now I guess.

I learned something today...
...well, a couple of things....
1) Other people read my blog
2) You don't have to be a MySpace member to read myspace blogs
3)Cadbury makes a candy bar called Wunderbar that kinda freaks me out..ie it's weird to eat (chocolate covering a hard shell of caramel covering soft peanut buttery something or other)

On the docket to discover:
1)What you call someone who is a morning person and a night person ( I think I fall into that category)
2)Why SPAM has that layer of jelly on top of it when you open the can.
3)And who the hell came up with the idea for 'Canned Meat' anyway.

Hmmm....things to ponder...or look up on Google.

The Drowsy Chaperone
Ok....so, if you are looking to do anything in the LA area before December 24th, you should go and see The Drowsy Chaperone at the Ahmanson Theatre in Downtown LA. Last night I took Maria to see this musical on the recommendation of my voice teacher, and unlike the last musical that he sent me to see (The Grand Tour....a 'delightful romp' through war torn, Nazi ridden WWII era France...from now on I will avoid any musicals that claim to be a 'delightful romp' through anything!) I loved this show!
It was friggin hysterical. Here is a review to spark your interest. I have started watching more musicals in order to increase my general knowledge of what is out there or has been out there on the stage, and although there were quite a few inside jokes poking fun at musicals, I think the humor would translate over to a non-musical background audience. I wish them luck on their Broadway stage pursuit...with Tony award winner Sutton Foster in the lead female role I don't think they will have any problem getting that opportunity.
In other news, the use of the word "Scheid" as both adjective, noun, verb and insult seems to be as rampant as ever. I don't know how much of this is actually being used in every day speaking, but I know that it can be found all over Kristina's Blog....oh, and for those of you who want to actually read it, you sadly have to have a MySpace account....which I don't have....so I have no idea what she is saying....I just hear everyone laughing when they read it. Should this depress me? I think I need to stop thinking about it because it's starting to.

7-2

Our new record. It's strange to think that just last season we were 0-10. It was another good game with more strike-outs and some good hits from the whole team... We played against "Rough Draft", who I found out is in fact an animation company in the area (they were the ones responsible for Futurama), and ended the game with a 19-11 victory. The most notable element of the evening was who they had on first. She was pregnant...and I don't mean a little pregnant either...she had to be about 8 months or so.... I don't know if they were using it as a weapon against us on purpose or what...but it was certainly awkward... especially when one of her teammates yelled out "Put that baby into it!" when she was up to bat. Thankfully there were no incidents...although I cringed when one of my pitches came a bit too close to her head.

Anyway...I have an audition that I have to go to in about 10 min. for Nickelodeon...I have to brush up on my Aeronautics terminology. Yaw. Roll into a bank and do a stall-turn into a barrel roll. Hmm....sounds good enough to me....now to get them to believe it!
